What is personal data?

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject). This includes, for example, name, email address, customer number, or your user behavior when using electronic media. LECON uses cookies in some areas of its website, for example, to recognize user preferences and optimize the website accordingly. This facilitates navigation and ensures a high level of user-friendliness. Cookies also help LECON identify particularly popular areas of its website. Cookies are small files that are stored on a user's hard drive. They allow information to be retained for a specific period and the user's computer to be identified. LECON also uses session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the user closes their browser. Users can configure their browser to notify them about the placement of cookies. This makes the use of cookies transparent for the user. Important: If the user completely disables the use of cookies, they may not be able to use certain functions of the LECON website.

Use of Facebook Social Plugins:

This website uses social plugins ("plugins") from the social network Facebook, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins are identified by a Facebook logo or the phrase "Facebook Social Plugin". An overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins

When a user visits a page on the LECON website that contains such a plugin, their browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook's servers. The plugin's content is transmitted directly from Facebook to the user's browser and integrated into the website. By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives information that the user's browser has accessed the corresponding page of the LECON website, even if the user does not have a Facebook account or is not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including the user's IP address) is transmitted directly from the user's browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. If the user is logged in to Facebook, Facebook can directly associate the visit to the LECON website with their Facebook account. If the user interacts with the plugins, for example, by clicking the "Like" button or leaving a comment, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. This information is also published on Facebook and displayed to the user's Facebook friends. Facebook may use this information for advertising, market research, and to tailor the design of Facebook pages to user needs. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest, and relationship profiles, for example, to evaluate the use of the LECON website in relation to the advertisements displayed to the user on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about activities on the LECON website, and to provide other services related to the use of Facebook. If the user does not want Facebook to associate the data collected via the LECON website with their Facebook account, the user must log out of Facebook before visiting the LECON website. The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as related rights and privacy settings, can be found in Facebook's privacy policy.

Using Pinterest Social Plugins:

Our website may include plugins from the social network Pinterest. Pinterest is operated by Pinterest Inc., 808 Brannan St., San Francisco, CA 94103-4904, USA. You can recognize the Pinterest plugin by the Pinterest button (with the small "P" in the middle) on our site. When you visit a website that includes the "Pin It" button, your browser establishes a direct connection to Pinterest's servers, and Pinterest automatically stores information on its servers that your browser sends when you visit a website or that your mobile app sends when you use it. This log data may include your IP address, the address of the websites you visit that have Pinterest features (e.g., our website), your browser type and settings, the date and time of your request, your use of Pinterest, and cookies. Please note that as the provider of our website, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how Pinterest uses it. You can find more information in Pinterest's privacy policy. If you do not want Pinterest to generate data about you via our website, you can take the following steps: Always log out of Pinterest before visiting LECON websites or other websites. If you do not want Facebook or Pinterest to directly associate the data collected via our website with your profile on the respective service, you must log out of the relevant service before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the loading of plugins using browser add-ons, such as a script blocker http://noscript.net/

Social Media (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram):

On the LECON website, users will find links to the social media services of Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. These links are identifiable by the respective company logo. Following these links takes users to LECON's profile on the respective social media platform. Clicking a link establishes a connection to the social media service's servers. This transmits information to the social media service's servers indicating that the user has visited the LECON website. Furthermore, additional data is transferred to the social media service provider. This includes, for example, the address of the website containing the activated link, the date and time the website was accessed or the link was activated, information about the browser and operating system used, and the IP address. If the user is already logged into the relevant social media service when activating the link, the social media service provider may be able to determine the user's username and possibly even their real name from the transmitted data and associate this information with their personal user account on the social media service. The user can prevent this association with their personal user account by logging out of their account beforehand. The servers of the social media services are located in the USA and other countries outside the European Union. Therefore, the data may also be processed by the social media service provider in countries outside the European Union. It should be noted that companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as in the member states of the European Union. It should also be noted that LECON has no influence on the scope, nature, and purpose of the data processing carried out by the social media service provider. Users can find more detailed information about the use of user data by the social media services integrated on the LECON website in the privacy policy of the respective social media service.

Links & Disclaimer:

Cross-references to other content from other websites of other internet users are a voluntary service, and the content made accessible in this way reflects the opinions and views of the respective authors of those websites. LECON has not verified the accuracy of this content, nor does it represent or reflect the opinions and views of LECON. Therefore, LECON assumes no liability whatsoever, neither for links nor for the technical term "deep links," which have not been demonstrably brought to our attention in writing.

Section 17 of the Austrian E-Commerce Act (ECG): Exclusion of Liability for Links

A service provider who provides access to external information via an electronic link is not responsible for this information, provided that they have no actual knowledge of any illegal activity or information and are not aware of any facts or circumstances from which illegal activity or information becomes apparent with regard to claims for damages, or, as soon as they gain such knowledge or awareness, act immediately to remove the electronic link. Paragraph 1 shall not apply if the person from whom the information originates is subject to or supervised by the service provider, or if the service provider presents the third-party information as its own.

Data security:

LECON implements technical and organizational security measures to protect user data as comprehensively as possible from unauthorized access. In addition to securing the operating environment, LECON uses encryption in certain areas (online applications, customer accounts, contact forms). The information provided by the user is then transmitted in encrypted form using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol to prevent misuse of the data by third parties. This is indicated by the closed padlock icon in the browser's status bar and the address beginning with https.

Inventory data:

Without your explicit consent or a legal basis, LECON and its brands will not disclose or use your personal data with third parties outside the scope of contract processing. Within the scope of the contract, we may engage third parties to act on our behalf. These third parties will have access to your personal data, but only to the extent necessary to fulfill their respective services. They have committed to complying with applicable data protection regulations, and data processing agreements in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR have been concluded.

After complete contract processing and/or the expiry of your consent, your data will be blocked from further use. After the expiry of the statutory retention periods under tax and commercial law and/or our own retention periods, this data will be deleted unless you have expressly consented to its further use.

Your personal data, insofar as it is necessary for the establishment, content, or modification of the contractual relationship (master data), will be used exclusively for contract processing. For example, your name and address must be passed on to the shipping provider for delivery of the goods or for payment purposes, etc.
